“What is mental alchemy? It’s the art of transforming the way you think and feel—to shift the world around you. …You’re learning how to reshape it from the inside out. …Mental alchemists? We turn anxiety into awareness. Doubt into direction. Fear into fuel.”
“Mental alchemy isn’t a light switch. It’s a habit. …Change your inner narrative, and the outer world adapts.”

Alchemy in general, is mostly known for putting together base metals, such as lead, to create gold. Mental alchemy is taking thoughts, beliefs, philosophies from various sources and creating your own beautiful view of life, i.e. worldview or personal perspective. To me, it’s akin to creating a transperspective.
“transperspectivism: the way to seek an understanding of truth through other perspectives and traditions and incorporate them into your own.”
Why does this matter? Because I believe it’s the future of thinking and philosophy. Life isn’t about one specific view that overrides all other views. To me, life is a kaleidoscope of viewpoints and perspectives.
Although I subscribe to Christian beliefs in history, spirituality, and practice; I allow myself to explore many other beliefs and perspectives so I don’t stagnate in my thinking. I don’t want to be the type of Christian that thinks all other views are “sinful” or beneath my worldview. To me, all beliefs and worldviews matter, even the ones that bring harm to others. They matter because they wouldn’t exist if we didn’t think it. And I can’t help but wonder why do some people just think of harming others?
I used to be a person that brought harm to the world around me. Even my own brother described my behavior as dangerous. I never thought of myself that way before, but it was justified when I stepped back to look at my behavior: I was conducting a crank drug deal at his house after he was married. Which to my brother, threatened the safety of his wife. At the time, I was pissed at him for even thinking I’d bring harm to him or his wife. Later, he explained that I don’t know if the person I’m dealing with could be watched and then get popped. It made sense.
It’s behavior like I described above and many other ways that I lived that caused me to start pausing and wondering what I’m doing with my life. Eventually, as I developed a Christian worldview, I learned that my life’s energy could be better spent with loving God, myself, and others. That started a journey of self-exploration that’s manifested in blogs, vlogs, and social media posts.
Part of my self-exploration includes mental alchemy through a worldview of transperctivism. Or as I simply describe as “making the pure choice”. The choice that includes God’s love and wisdom, and none of my past traumas or personal history and experience. Granted, everything I’ve learned will always be factored into any choice I make. But, as much as possible, I try to make a pure choice.
This might be something you can try as you learn and grow in life. Use some tiny piece of information that you’ve gained and see how it can enhance your life decisions.
