Even though I did not grow up knowing who God was I believe in some way I actually did. Our dad taught us how to be strong, how to be kind, loving, and to treat others with compassion. I was reminded not long ago that our dad gave us everything he could and taught us to be good humans. Deep down inside he showed us who God was.
Many many times we would sit and he would talk to us three girls (me and my sisters) and we would just cry because he would be very passionate about what he had to say. It always felt like he was scolding us or he was mad at us but in fact he was teaching us in his way. Which when you are young those kind of ways make you feel like you have a horrible childhood and you wish that you could be in any other place but that one at that moment. When we get older is when we realize exactly what we were being taught. And even though my ways are not my dads ways, they really are. Because he taught me how special I was in his way and I teach that same thing to my children in my way.
In my darkest days, which have been a lot lately I am reminded how much my dad really knew me. When he was alive all I would do is look at him and he would know what I was feeling and his hugs would be the best, he knew me. I miss him a lot. Thanks dad for showing me God in your own way, the best way you knew how. I miss you so much everyday.
